J. Crew Pencil Skirts

On my visit to JC I also tried the 2 pencil skirts that caught my eye from the new arrivals. The first one is the Sorbetto pencil skirt size 2, tried on here with a chambray shirt, which seems to be an in-store item only. The waist band is a nude colour.

Chambray Shirt (similar here and here)

The other skirt is the Aurora tweed pencil skirt also in size 2, tried on here with the Camp pocket cardigan in smoldering brick colour and size S.

Which items from the new arrivals got your attention?

More things to review in a future post.

Wishing everyone a good weekend!

  2. Did you go downtown or to U Village? I had very little luck at JC over Christmas break, planning to revisit mid-Feb. I love how you styled both skirts! Love seeing all the new colours!

  4. Hi CC! I was too lazy to drive all the way downtown, so we went to Bellevue Square and the crewlet only. Is the U Village better stocked? Thanks! I love both skirts equally!

  5. The ripple stripe looks cute. The Aurora is interesting and I like the texture. I wasn't too excited about the pattern although it's interesting. Thanks for sharing pics :-)

  6. Both are lovely, I am a desperado for spring, I loathe cords and boots winter as I always feel so frumpy.

  7. Just saw that orange ripple stripe in store and loved it. So fun. Not at full price, but if I can get it on sale eventually...perhaps. The Aurora skirt is interesting, but the colors aren't great on me. They kinda make me think more of fall than spring. But will be lovely on many ladies. I thought the spring pencil skirts all had a nice weight to them.

  8. I'm not really a fan of pencil skirts because of my shape/height, but these do look really pretty. :)

  10. Thanks for stopping by, gigi. I agree -- the ripple skirt is very cute. The Aurora skirt is a bit more serious.

  11. Thanks, Tabitha! I am looking forward to spring too. I am tired of cords as well, as much as I liked their warmth this winter.

  16. Hi,

A pencil skirt is a slim-fitting skirt with a straight, narrow cut. The pencil skirt is usually worn either as a separate piece of sportswear or as part of a suit. The skirt is warmer due to the reduced ventilation, and is less likely to be blown up by gusts of wind. Thank you...
