Grace & Jackie at Talbots

Sounds like the title for a sitcom, doesn't it? Just a quick post with a couple of Talbots coats I tried on the other day...

The Grace jacket I tried on is the Lavender Mist. It also comes in Blue Bell, Storm Heather, Black and Ivory, sizes 2 to 20. It's a wool/nylon blend and is unlined. Price: $249.

The Jackie is a wool/alpaca/polyamide/mohair blend, sizes 2 to 20. It's beautiful and it feels luxurious. Price: $269. The top seems to be an in-store item.

Other cuties are:

Grace Fit Herringbone Jacket (wool/polyester/acrylic blend, $199)

and
Jackie Fit Houndstooth Jacket (wool/viscose blend, $199)

The one thing I like about Talbots is that their clothes are steamed and neatly arranged. They have a commercial-size steamer in the store that they put to good use.

For more Talbots, please visit Gigi's blog.

Have a good day, everyone!

  2. You know how to pick'em! Those jackets look great on you. Funny how your IRL pics are better than the ones Tal posts online (JMO). But what's up with the unlined jackets, first JC, then BR, now Tal? :S

  4. Dying for the Jackie in plaid. Everything looks great on you! ITA agree with Closet Crisis... unlined jackets are not okay. Except, maybe when they go on super sale :)

  6. Y, that could totally be a sitcom. I was gonna vamp on that, but I'll refrain.

You tooootally look better than the model in the plaid jacket. I tried that on and will link back to your post here when I get it up. The jacket & I didn't get along, but it looks great on you.

The jacket w/the ruffle is cute. They have this similar version from spring/summer or summer/transitional fall and I may get that. It's a cotton chino. You are spot on about the product looking great in-store. Even the sale section is well maintained and never messy. Oh JC has a big steamer in each store. I've seen them. They just don't use them.

  7. Oh, Rose, it would be helpful if you put some of your measurements or at least your height in your profile info. Some ppl look really tall but aren't, and vice versa.

  8. Thanks for all the pics of these jackets that I've been dying to try on! I'm hoping to love that plaid Jackie on me, but we'll see. It looks lovely. The Grace is really cute as well. Completely agree at how neat everything is in Talbots, esp. compared to JC's usual mess.

  11. Thanks, CC! You are too kind! Not sure what's this about unlined jackets other than it's a cost reduction measure.

  14. You are too kind, gigi! Thanks!

About my measurements... let's keep some secrets, shall we? :) Joking aside, I am 5'6" and always wear at least 3" heels unless I am on vacation, when anything goes. Wear mostly size 2 (or 0) in skirts and 2 in pants and tops.

  15. Shopwithm, I think the Jackie will look good on a blondie like you! :)

I truly dislike walking into a messy store. Wrinkled clothes are not enhancing my shopping experience. On the contrary, they make me want to walk right out!

  17. I love those! I always forget how cut Talbots is. I bought that Tomato cardigan from gap last week and love it! I didn't see the cords but those are cute too. I can't wait to wear it this winter.

  19. Hello, Moonlight Serenade! Thanks for stopping by. I wore my Tomato red cardi yesterday and love it. I also noticed the Gap has a pair of the same colour jeans, but will skip on those.
