The Gap - July

Earlier this evening I stopped at the Gap since I was in the area. I hadn't been inside in a little while, so almost the entire store looked new to me. I noticed quite a bit of colour among the new arrivals, such as on the Palm Print Racerback Rayon Dress (size S). The rayon feels very cool against the skin, which is a great plus in the weather we've been having lately.

I also tried on the 1969 Denim Jacket (size S) to see how it compared to the Gap Factory one which my sister got last week. I liked the colour and the fit on this version. I still have mine which I got a few years back and which is still wearing very well.

Next was the colourful Cable Knit Pullover Sweater (size XS, summer coral). Extra small is one size smaller than I normally wear in sweaters, but this one fit well. Coral is one of my more flattering colours, so I really liked this sweater. It's all cotton and machine washable.

A cute white jacket (also comes in true indigo) is the Utility Jacket (size S). The fabric is a mix of cotton and linen andis machien washable. It looks much better in real life than in the fluorescent light in the fitting room. :)

The shoes are the Leather Slip-On Sneakers (size 8, pink fairy). They fit TTS and are comfortable on. I noticed the Gap has quite a few colours and patterns on the site, and they are on sale too.

Lastly, a cute tee, the Beaded Geo Tee (size S, soft lilac). It fits TTS to small. The colour is a pretty lilac and the tiny beads are white. They are glued on, from what I can tell.

That's all for now, but here's what I also like at the Gap:
How about you? Have you been to the Gap lately? What did you get? Please share?

Have a great Friday and weekend, everyone!

Loft - June (II)

I noticed a few new items during my most recent visit at the Loft, and I thought I would share some reviews with you. The first were the fun Pinwheel Bi-Stretch Skinny Ankle Pants in Marisa Fit (size 4). I didn't think much of them when I saw them on the hanger, but I really liked them after I put them on. They have just the right amount of stretch. The top is the Lacy Tee (size S, pale grey heather). It is a pretty tee, all cotton and machine washable, and comes in four other colours.

I love the Lou & Grey line a lot, and this rollout is no exception. This time, I really liked the Lou & Grey Knit Zip-Pocket Pants (size 4, black). They are cotton/spandex 96/4 and extremely comfortable.

Another piece I liked was the Cotton Crew Neck Cardigan (size S, black). It is all cotton and machine washable. I have one I got last year and it has held up well to wash and wear.

Lastly, my favourite piece, the Striped High Waist Sailor Pencil Skirt (size 4, pompeian red). Size 4 is my usual skirt size at the Loft. The fabric is a substantial cotton and the skirt is fully lined. I loved the slant pockets and the button accents.

Hope your week is off to a good start, and have a safe Tuesday out there!

J. Crew Factory - June

Yesterday I visited the Factory store for the first time in a few months. I didn't have a lot of time to spend in the store, but I managed to try on a few items I liked. First of all, though, by demand, I tried on the Factory Sleeveless Shirtdress (size S, blue). It also comes in white, but I really liked the blue version. The dress fits TTS, and at 5'6", it hits me well above the knee.

A very nice surprise was the Factory Printed Stretch Cotton Skirt (size 4, navy white dot). I usually wear size 4 in this type of skirt at JC. The fabric is cotton with a bit of spandex and I thought it looked very pretty on. The jacket is the Factory Denim Jacket (size S, dark wash). There is also a lighter coloured one called 'antique sanded blue.' The top is the Factory Crossed Back Linen Tee (size 4, bright begonia). I am not really a fan of the open back, frankly. Worn under a jacket or a blazer, it's a different story. :)

The sandals I am wearing in the above photos are the Factory Suede Demi-Wedge Sandals (size 8 1/2, saddle). Usually I wear size 8 in JC shoes, but there was no size 8 left in the store, so I tried the half size larger. These are obviously too big on me. The lovely SA gave me a coupon for an extra 15% off and free shipping to order them online.

Lastly for now, the Factory Pencil Skirt in Basketweave (size 4). The skirt has beautiful bright colours and fits TTS for me in Factory skirts. In the regular store I take sizes 2 or 4, usually.

That's all I have for now. I have a few more pics for a future post, though. Have you shopped at the Factory store lately? What did you get? Please share!

Hope your week is ending on a high note, and have a great weekend, everyone! It's going to be a scorcher out there, so don't forget that sunscreen!
