J. Crew - July (III)

Earlier today CC and I met up for lunch and a short visit to JC to check out the new arrivals. Quite a few were on display, and among the first ones I noticed was the Quilted Boyfriend Fatigue Jacket size M. I took a quick look at size S and decided the shoulders seemed too narrow for me, so I sized up from my usual size. It fits loosely right now, but it should be a good fit over a sweater.

Also a new item, the Toile Sweatshirt size S. I liked the substantial fabric and the softness of this sweatshirt a lot. There is also a pair of Toile Sweatpants as well. The skirt is the Zip Back Surf Pencil Skirt size 4. It's a pretty cool casual skirt and the thick jersey is very forgiving.

Next I tried on the Mixed Media Sweater size S, my usual sweater size. This sweater was not at the top of my wishlist among the new arrivals, but I quickly changed my mind about it. The 'vintage cabernet' I tried on is a beautiful colour, and the wool is really soft.

Lastly, a pair of Lanie Stacked-Heel Sandals size 8 1/2. These are half size larger than my usual shoe size, but it was the last pair in the store, so I couldn't compare to an 8. They are large on me, so I would say these fit TTS.

What else I liked at JC in the sale section? Here it is below.
The Linen Chevron Maxidress was $105.99 in the store, and 50% off was applied at checkout. I also tried on size 2 this time (size 4 seen here) and it fitted perfectly. In the end, I settled for the Maxi Tank Dress in Stripe (seen here) which was $84.99 minus 50%, a good bargain.
How about you? Did you see some of the new arrivals in person? What did you think? Did you score something nice for yourself with these great sales? Please share.

Hope you had a restul weekend, and have a great week ahead!

Club Monaco - July

Recently I visited Club Monaco briefly to check out some of the pretty new arrivals. I posted my picks here before. One of my favourites was the Caiden Top. I loved the beautiful colours of the paisley motif and the silk fabric. I am wearing size XS, which is one size smaller than I normally take in Club Monaco and other tops.

Next is a pretty silver linen tee, the Rainey Silver Foil Tee size XS and 'white/ silver foil.' There is also a darker one in a grey background with silver foil all over. It looks much nicer in real life than in the photo below.

Nichole Floral Dress size 4 and Monique Jacket size S and 'black' This jacket seems to be very popular, and currently only S shows up on the website. However, I saw quite a few in the store, so you can always call them to find your size. The floral embroidery on the silk is beautiful. This dress would be gorgeous to wear to a summer event.

Lastly, a photo from a previous visit, of the Daisy Tunic Dress, size 2. I liked the fun orange colour of this dress a lot. The fabric is quite thin, hence the tunic name, and is perfect for the beach.

What I scored at Club Monaco during one of their 40% off sale items promos: it's the Maeven Skirt. What the description on the website doesn't say is that it's a stretchy, very thick jersey similar to my Pixie Pants from J. Crew. I love the side lace details on this skirt and can't wait to wear it!

What about you? Have you shopped Club Monaco during one of their current sales? If so, wat did yo find there?

Hope your week has ended on a high note, and have a great weekend, everyone!

J. Crew New Arrivals Picks

The new, long-awaited roll-out from J. Crew came out today, and I just had a chance to take a closer look at it. There are lots of items I really like, and a couple of pairs of jeans got my attention instantly: the McGuire for J .Crew Gainsbourg Slim Jean and the Point Sur Hightower Straight Jean in Rhys Wash:

The Ruched Knit Dress in 'heather chalkboard' has my name on it already. I love the ruching, the colour and the fabric of this dress:

I never get tired of seeing a heart motif. Here it is on the Vintage Cotton Gold Hearts Tee:

The Quilted Denim Pencil Skirt also has my name on it, I think. I love that it has back zipper. Most skirts I have seen have a front zipper, which creates unnecessary bulk.

Collection Black Floral Pencil Skirt reminds me of the Seamed Matelasse Skirt I just got. I am usually a sucker for pencil skirt, but I liked how the bottom flare skirts fit me as well.

Cropped Jacket has the same shape as past cropped jackets from J. Crew. This one is in easy to maintain poly:

Collection Martina Calf Hair Wedges are back this season in the same colour. I got mine last spring at the end of the season and they fit and look great. I received many compliments on them. I sized up half a size in these. See my previous photos of it here.

I love bracelets more than any other piece of jewelry and one that has pink flowers in it is just perfect, in my opinion - the Posy Bracelet:

I was also pleasantly surprised to see a lor of gold jewelry this time. Although white gold is the metal of my choice, I liked the dainty Gabriela Artigas 14k Solid Yellow Gold and Single Black Diamond Ring. It aso comes in rose gold as well.
That's about it for me. What about you? What did you like at J Crew this roll-out? Please share!

Hope your week has been going well so far, and have a great Thursday, everyone!
