J. Crew - August (III)

Last weekend I managed to pop into JC for a few minutes to see some of the new arrivals. Not a whole lot were available just yet, but I found a couple of sweaters I liked. The first one was the Contrast-Stitch Sweater in 'vintage burgudy' size S, my usual sweater size. I loved the rich colour and the texture of the sweater, which is a 7-gauge knit. There are also five other colours to choose from.

The Excursion Quilted Vest is back again this year. I am wearing a size S over the sweater above. I tried on the 'black,' but ther is also a 'chartreuse,' an 'ivory' and a 'navy' version.

Lastly, the other sweater that got my attention: the Rib-Stitch Open Cardigan in 'black.' I am trying on size XS because the store was already sold out of size S. The yarn is all cotton, in a chunky knit.

J. Crew New Arrivals Picks

Late last night I perused the new arrivals at J. Crew, and here are my picks. First off all, I instantly liked the Silk-Cutout Tee in 'vintage merlot.' The body is cotton, while the trim is silk, which reminds me a bit of the tees from Madewell.

Next is the Double-Knit Merino Wool Long Cardigan. It come in five different colour, and one of them is a beautiful 'burgundy acorn.'

Merino Wool Pocket Tunic. The colour shown is 'deep forest,' which seems to show up in several fall collections this year. (LOFT is another one). The 'rusty clay' is on my wishlist.

Drapey Wool Sweatpants.  Last year I bought a pair of wool pants and were amazingly warm, even in the coldest of weather. I am cosnidering a second pair for my long walks.

The much-awaited Dannie Pant looks like a cross between the Minnie and the Pixie to me.

I had seen the Shiny Puffer Vest in the previews and really liked the 'dark cranberry.'

The Wool Melton Duffle Coat would also be great for those long walks. I like the 'heather charcoal,' but the 'electric red' is a good colour when everything else looks dull outside. I have a coat in 'vibrant flame' from a couple of years ago and received many compliments on it.

Metropolitan Suede Ankle Boots seem to be back. I believe these were first seen at JC around 2009 or so. I have had several other suede boots from JC and have worn them a lot.

Lastly, the Shelby Small Satchel in 'cabernet.' I saw this in the store last weekend and loved it.

Hope your week is going well so far, and have a great Thursday, everyone!

Anthro - August

I visited Anthro on a couple of occasions, so I thought I'd post some photos of those visits. First item I liked was tha Marais Anorak in 'moss,' size S, my usual jacket size. The 'moss' looks more green than on the website photo. The jacket is a cotton/tencel mix and feels great on.

Crossed Cowl Tee size S in 'grey,' but there is also an 'ivory' and 'violet.' I liked the knitted cowl neck on this tee, which is all cotton.

Arabel Buttondown size 4 and 'yellow.' This is my usual top size, but it feels roomy. I was attracted to the grey & yellow mix print on this shirt. The back has an interesting ruffle at the bottom, which I was to able to capture.

One of my favourites, the Katrina Tunic size S. It's a beautiful paisley print on silk, but quite sheer.

And lastly, my favourite items, the Gossamer Tee size S in 'nude' and the Quilted Floral Pencil Skirt size S, my usual size.  The tee also comes in 'black' and. The skirt is extremely comfortable, has a grosgrain drawstring in the waistband and lateal pockets.
